Fishing is fun for the entire family or group, no matter what age. The type of fishing we do is called bottom fishing. The boat is anchored and usually all you have to do is release the line on your spinning reel, wait a second, feel a pull, and reel up. Our saltwater fish are almost always hungry. Fishing is so easy, even a 3 year old can learn.
The types of fish most often caught aboard an Easy Adventure include snapper, grouper, grunts, jacks, and the occasional harmless nurse shark or bonnet head shark. We encourage you to release the fish after taking a photo. Our motto is release the fish, but save the memories. After all, a fish is too valuable to catch only one time. Some of our model fish have posed many times for photos with various guests of all ages, thrilling each and every one of them.
If you have never fished before, don't worry. The captain will be happy to teach you how. It is easy. You can learn how to cast a spinning reel, bait a hook, tie the knot, remove the hook from the fish, rig large shark baits, etc.
We specialize in catching lots and lots of small fish. This activity is fun for kids and beginners of all ages. The fish put up a good fight, but do not scare or tire the fisherman. Easy Adventures is not a big game fishing boat. There are enough of those in Islamorada. They troll for large fish offshore and require a larger boat and a both a captain and mate. Their expenses are much greater than ours so they charge more for each charter.
The more experienced fisherman may want to try his luck trolling for barracuda or bottom fish for shark. Barracuda put up an exciting fight, running out at dizzying speeds, jumping and diving. Special gear is required for shark fishing. During the day you might catch a nurse shark up to 5 feet in length or a bonnethead shark up to 3 feet long. At night, larger sharks come in. This type of fishing requires patience and is for skilled adults only.

Had a great time fishing and touring Indian Key. Dave caught a ‘huge’ grouper and Andrew caught many snapper. Can’t wait til we get our pictures developed. Thanks for the easy adventure! See you next year.
